Las Vegas Neil Diamond Tribute Show
The legendary Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Las Vegas tribute show continues in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
More than just being one of the top-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Alexa “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to go independent.
He began a nationwide Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Artist Las Vegas performance schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
